Thanks to Radio Brendoman listeners, Brendan Creecy and Phil Vecchio will be releasing the first podcast on a 7" record.
"Making a record has been [our] dream going back before we even met each other," Creecy said. Over the course of one month Creecy and Vecchio raised $1,612 with Kickstarter. They had previously used Kickstarter to fund the creation of Radio Brendoman t-shirts. "Our first Kickstarter definitely helped us prepare better this time around," Creecy said.
“The main inspiration for the project came from years of wanting to release a vinyl record on my indie label,” Vecchio said. He and Creecy created Pop.Vox.Music while they were in college. “This is definitely fulfilling a little bit of a dream for me.”
Coming up, Creecy and Vecchio will be on a panel called "Webcomics Advocates and the Webcomics Gathering" at San Diego Comic Con International 2015. This is their second appearance on this panel at SDCC, along with Patrick Scullin (Super Siblings). Creecy, Scullin, and Vecchio will discuss the challenges and fun of creating a webcomic and "will give any webcomic creator in the audience 30 seconds to promote their comic to the crowd."
“Webcomics Advocates and the Webcomics Gathering” panel will be held in Room 4 at the San Diego Convention Center at 8:30pm Thursday.
While at SDCC, Creecy is looking forward to the Mattel/WWE panel and Vecchio will enjoy his time at the Nintendo Lounge.
Creecy and Vecchio will also take part in the Benview Megacast, which is recorded at every SDCC, along with Matt Benson, David King, and others.
